Future NFL

In the future, the National Football League will create more teams. Currently, there are thirty-two teams in the NFL. All of these teams are located in the United States. The new teams that will be added to the league will not be located here. These teams will be located in Canada and Mexico. There have been regular season games played in these two countries in the past. In order to keep the number of teams in each division in balance, the NFL will add four teams in Canada and four teams in Mexico. There are eight divisions in the NFL right now and each one consists of four teams. Each division will add one of the new teams to balance them out. The NFL will eventually expand to forty teams in the future.

  1. I think this is great, the NFL is going Internationally. Many love football and would like to see a live game even though technology may bring football to their homes. The 2010 NFL International Series game will see the San Francisco 49ers take on the Denver Broncos at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 31st October 2010. With the popularity of American Football in the UK and Europe bigger than ever before, demand for tickets for the Saints v Chargers game has surpassed all expectations with over half a million people having applied for tickets. The first sale of tickets went happened in May and all 45,000 sold out in 90 minutes, with the second phase of 15,000 selling out in just 30 minutes during June, although this will have a big effect on society here and abroad.

  2. I think if this is going to happen it won't be for some time. one of the biggest problems is that Canadian football has different rules. They have only 3 downs compared to our 4. Also as we have seen with baseball we do have some trouble allowing other countries to join our leagues. And with most of the world playing soccer i find it hard to believe that it will spread much past the US borders.
